Members of the 548th hired as extras for the movie of Tora! Tora! Tora! which began filming in Hawaii in January 1969. Standing on the far right is Larry Harris, who is now a golf pro in Hawaii. Bottom left squatting down is Chip Bechtel, who found the photo after cleaning his attic. Jim Kalahar was supposed to be the movie but one of his brothers who was in Vietnam was ambushed in a tank and was thought to be KIA. That was then changed to MIA and then he was actually found alive but injured. Larry Harris said his job in the movie was to be driving a truck at Shafter while Pearl Harbor was being bombed. 548th Enlisted 1991
This is an unclassified image transmitted over the 548th Imagery Support Terminal (IST) at Christmas circa 1987 to the 6th TIG (7th Air Force, Osan AB, Korea), 5th Air Force (Yokota AB, Japan), and 13th Air Force (Clark AB, Philippines). Everyday the 548th transmitted significant classified intelligence imagery from that days imagery to the intelligence staffs at these locations for use in their intelligence briefings. Primative by today’s standards, but it was the best we had at that time.

Det 1, 548th: This was the crew that refurbished an old PPIF at Osan AB from May 1979 – July 1979, and established the Det 1, 548RTG. This later became the 6th TIG. Some of the guys are from the 18th TFG/15th TRS at Kadena AB.
