Only planning information for the 2010 and 2012 was posted on the 67RTS Website (67rts.org)
Reunion 2012 – Washington DC
Reunion 2012 will be in Washington DC beginning on 10 October and ending on 15 October. This reunion will be hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Tour & Receptive Services (MARS) who have arranged our hotel, our Association dinner, and various trips and torus in and around DC. The reunion will be offered as a “package” deal to include these with the tours being optional and at the choice of the attendee. Registration and a special trip to the Agency in Langley’s museum with a visit the their A-12 will be handled separately. Special rules will apply to the Agency trip. An initial notice was sent out in September 2011 so if you did not receive one please email [email protected] with your name and mailing address. More information and an opportunity to register will be sent in January or February.
Reunion 2010 – New Orleans, Louisiana
Once again we look forward to gathering for a reunion of 67RTS people, their spouses, and friends. This will be the SIXTH time we have gathered since 2000 and will complete a decade of reunions for us. Time marches on for all of us and what was easy in 2000 will be less so in 2010 therefore we are proposing a slightly different kind of reunion for 2010, one we’ll call a “gathering” rather than a “reunion”. What’s the difference? Well a gathering will be more informal and have less organized events than we have had in the past. Our gathering will also rely on attendees to “pay as you go” rather than make decisions – and payments – now for an event a year plus in the future. Nevertheless, we will have one traditional aspect, namely an organized dinner together. Our own 67th alum Ken Kelly, a New Orleans native and current resident, along with his wife Beverly have been gracious hosts to many visitors and military groups over the years are willing to step forward to offer those interested some events additional to our minimum events. So with this in mind here’s what’s planned:
Where: New Orleans, Louisiana
When: 9 – 10 – 11 November 2010
Hotel: Embassy Suites Hotel New Orleans Convention Center
THE PLAN
Tuesday, November 9 Arrival
Dinner at Mulates, a Cajun restaurant, organized by Ken Kelly
Wednesday, November 10 Tour of New Orleans organized by Ken Kelly, time TB
67RTS Dinner at the Embassy Suites at approximately 7 PM
Thursday, November 11 Tour the WWII Museum with Ken Kelly OR explore New Orleans
Thursday, November 12 Check out and depart
Please note that there will be NO formal meetings planned and no meeting place set aside for our use. Also there will be NO hospitality room separate from our individual hotel rooms. HOWEVER, the Embassy Suites Hotel offers its guest TWO HOURS of FREE beverages from 5:30 to 7:30 each day and also offers its guests complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast daily.
The idea for this more open gathering format is so that you, your spouse, and guests can enjoy the many attractions on offer in one of the most famous cities of the world. Please feel free to make your own schedule and explore this wonderful city on your own, with friends, or incorporating Ken’s organized events. We encourage attendees to increase their stay, either at the Embassy Suites or another venue, to take full advantage of the sights, sounds, music and foods of New Orleans.
