67th RTS People - 548th and 67th Reconnaissance Association

Fellow USAF 67th RTS photo interpreters at Tokyo Bay, July 4, 1970. The sailing ship in the background was the Argentine Navy’s cadet training ship the Libertad. We had read about the ship in the Stars and Stripes and we decided to visit it. Just identified everyone from some old records. Left to right, Ron Cubberly, Thomas Reeder, Wallace Harris, Kenneth Martin.

67th RTS would be folded in the 548th Reconnaissance Technical Group, Hickam Air Force Base by Spring of 1971. Cubberly went to Nakhon Phanom in Thailand. Reeder went to the 548th. Harris went to Beale. I don’t know where Martin’s next assignment was. I was behind the camera lens and went to the 548th. (Photo courtesy of Sam Walker Facebook)

67th RTS Association Recent Years

1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics, the guys in the picture and a few others wanted keepsakes of the Olympics so they acquired this flag and a few Japanese flags almost causing an international incident. All the flags were returned, airman not charged, all forgiven. I bought an Olympic patch so was safe. I took the picture while they were celebrating before we got the word give it back or else.
