Hello Joe Longo! I don't know if you remember me, but I remember featuring you in one of Carto/Library's Daily Underground Newspaper. When you mention Building #3, are you talking about the place where silver recovery was taking place? I believe it was called Building 26, but everyone referred it as the "Termite Palace" . I know many jokers would shoot the termite infested walls with water pump fire extinguisher and the walls were full of pot holes as result. You spend a guard duty overnight and the floor would be covered with termite wings the next morning. It was there on the Lagoon Drive for many years after my discharge, but got demolished sometimes in the late 70's.

Where ever the next reunion is I'll be there with my brother-in-law Gregg Pelleymounter. We were both at 4444th RTG(Langley AFB), then in 1969, got to Hickam 10 days before they landed on the moon. Does anyone remember the inspection we had in fornt of the building in 1970, when Col. Schazlety (sp) was there, next reunion I'll tell y'all what happened............. I've Googled for the big Building, #3, but I can't find the old storage building where everyone had guard duty. Was a great view of Waikiki, it got to be a hard night............ Later Guys.... Joe Longo, 69-71

Thank you so much for this website. I have wonderful memories of living in Hawaii when my husband, Art, was at Hickam with the 548th. I'm going to forward it to our children. If there are any pictures of him on the website, I would appreciate knowing where to find them.

Good luck, Christopher!!!! >have no prospects for future employment. I don't know your situation, and it may be easier for me to say this, but never say never. I got my current federal job when I was 64. (I didn't even bother to look for civilian job as age discrimination is a fact of life.)

Good afternoon, All! I hope everyone is having a great time. I wish I could be with you but I lost my job on the 29th and have no prospects for future employment. Living on an island, that means I probably have to relocate. Aloha, and Mahalo! Christopher Knowles Martha's Vineyard, MA

Anyone know where I may find deactivated 2nd RTS (Barksdale AFB, LA) patch for sale ? I looked all over for many years without success. I was originally assigned to 2RTS before transferring to 548th.

Although a 67th person many of my fellow 67th travelers went on to grace the 548th. The 67th started holding reunions back in 2000 and this year we will hold our 6th in New Orleans in Novmeber. I wish you all great success and hope to see some of you in November.

To: Jay Johnson I came across old photos with you, Bill Honnig, Ray Burris, Paul Nadeau, Brian Bauer, Rich Keener and one other person. It was taken on the day Bill left Hawaii to be discharged. If you'd like a copy, please contact me.
